About the project
A Dental Awareness, Hygiene & Preventive Care Initiative
First Step Foundation presents Healthy Smiles, Healthy Futures, an initiative aimed at promoting dental hygiene, oral health awareness, and preventive dental care among primary school children.
The project aims to reach approximately 3,600 students across nine government primary schools in East Delhi through interactive dental awareness sessions, live brushing demonstrations, basic dental screening, and distribution of dental hygiene kits.
The programme will educate children on the importance of brushing twice a day, maintaining healthy teeth and gums, adopting good oral hygiene practices, and making healthier food choices. Dental professionals will conduct basic screenings to help identify visible dental concerns at an early stage and guide students towards appropriate follow-up care.
Each participating student will receive a dental hygiene kit containing a toothbrush and toothpaste to encourage regular oral care practices at home. Teachers will also be encouraged to reinforce these healthy habits within the school environment.
Through this initiative, First Step Foundation aims to build lifelong oral hygiene habits, promote preventive healthcare, and create healthier, happier, and more confident smiles among children.
